Have a vacation surrounded by nature
Vransko Lake Crkvine campsite is located in the north of the largest lake in Croatia - Vransko jezero. It is in the immediate vicinity of the nature park and the ornithological reserve. Because of all this, it is an ecological camp where we pay close attention to ecology and try to leave as little impact on nature as possible. Many local plants grow in our camp, such as lavender, immortelle, oleander, rosemary and numerous trees such as figs, almonds and large pines or spruces. You will enjoy the fragrances of herbs, medicinal plants and pure fresh water.
Camp in the heart of Dalmatia
Camp Vransko Lake Crkvine is in an ideal location because of its location in the heart of Dalmatia - just a few kilometers from the coast of the beautiful Adriatic Sea, but far enough away to avoid the typical summer crowds. The camp and the lake are located near the coastal town of Biograd na Moru, which is situated between the ancient Dalmatian cities of Zadar and Šibenik. It's easy to get there from all parts of Europe by highway. The exit from the highway is at the Benkovac toll station, from where it's less than half an hour's drive to the camp. If you prefer to arrive by plane and stay in mobile homes, Zadar Airport is connected to almost all major European cities and is also less than half an hour's drive away.
The camp has existed at this location for a long time and was a favorite place for many visitors from all over the Europe, especially for fishermen. The camp was renovated in 2017 and turned it into a small ecological oasis for rest and escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Camping for all generations
The camp is located in a beautiful and dense pine forest on the very shore of the lake, which provides a pleasant shade. Since the camp is located in a nature park, we are not allowed to expand a lot, but we strive for the quality. The camp has 150 plots for tents or campers with an area of 80 to 100 square meters, so you will have privacy. Also, if you prefer a more luxurious way of camping, there are 18 mobile homes at your disposal. The mobile homes are different sizes and interior designs. We have Trend Deluxe and Couple houses with accommodation for 2 to 6 people. Mobile houses are equipped with air conditioning, WI FI signal and other amenities for complete rest and enjoyment. The camp's sanitary and catering facilities have been renovated and arranged.
It also has a shop, a small port, a restaurant, a beach bar, tennis courts, a multifunctional sports field, several table tennis tables, a children's playground and a bocce court. We do our best to provide as much as possible so that our guests can enjoy, relax and have an unforgettable vacation.
Ecological camping in balance with nature
Our mission is to continuously invest and raise standards to ensure our guest satisfaction. At the same time, we strive for ecology and nature conservation. This is why we are proud of the fact that we have become a member of the ECOCAMPING group! Accordingly, we are already working on a project to build a recycling island, we carefully use water and paper, and in one part of the camp, we get hot water through solar panels. Also, we reduced the lighting in part of the camp in order to reduce light pollution that can harm the birds living near the camp. In our work, we want to encourage local food producers by buying locally produced food. In the desire to contribute to the restoration of nature, we planted our own garden where we have organic vegetable production.
Numerous activities in our camp
As for activities, our guests can choose from a wide range: from fishing to bird watching, walking, cycling as well as numerous water sports. So, during your stay, you can swim in the lake and in the sea, you can visit some of the wonderful locations and ancient thousand-year-old cities in the area. Several national camps are located only an hour or two drive from the camp. Choose trips to the waterfalls of Krka or to the famous Plitvice Lakes, and if you prefer the sea, drive to the coast and visit the world-famous Kornati Islands. If you want adrenaline fun, there is also Fun Park Mirnovec nearby, where you can spend time on the most exciting attractions such as rollercoasters, virtual reality and many other attractions that will provide entertainment for all family members.
Due to the fresh water and fertile soil, town of Vrana and Lake Vrana have been an area where people have lived for thousands of years and are therefore rich in historical locations to visit. This was the area of numerous wars and battles in the Middle Ages where Croatian, Italian and Ottoman rulers alternated. You can visit the remains of the church of St. Mary, which contains the graves of 75 Knights Templar. You can also visit the Old Town of Vrana, which was the seat of great ecclesiastical and secular power from the 11th to the 14th century and the place where the Croatian royal crown and other valuables were kept. In the immediate vicinity is the Maškovića Han, which was the summer residence of the Turkish general Jusuf Mašković and is the westernmost example of Ottoman architecture in Croatia. If you want to enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the entire lake and islands, choose one of the several educational trails and climb to the lookout Kamenjak. You will be mesmerized by the scenic view.
