In the area of the Vrana Lake are a large number of birds and in the summer there can be up to one hundred thousand birds. Of a total of 251 species of birds that live on the reservation, or periodically throughout the year, in the winter period there are 87 species, and during migration in the summer or autumn, there are temporarily over 140 bird species at the lake. On the lake there are even 13 species whose population in this area is relevant not only for their survival in Croatia but also at a European and international level. All this makes Vrana Lake an ideal location for bird watching. The birds can be seen in the area around the lake, and for a better view and enjoyment in activities, the path is decorated with bird watching spots as part of the ornithological reserve.
