Fishing

With the diversity of the bird world, Vrana Lake can be proud with its rich fish fund. Due to the increased salinity of the water because the Lake is located in the immediate vicinity of the sea, in it are freshwater and saltwater species making this lake very interesting for fishing. Fishing can be carried out on the whole territory of Vrana Lake, except in the area of the ornithological reserve. Eel is strictly protected by law because of the small population and it must not be hunted, while for other species, there is no ban. Although camp Vransko Lake falls under the area of the protected reserve, fishing is still allowed, but only 300 meters from the shore by boat or kayak. The allowed daily amount of fish 5 kilograms, with the allowed catch of one fish of over 5 kilograms, but then there is a surcharge for the weight over 5 kilograms.

Fishing rules are the following:

A daily catch of two pieces is allowed with a total weight of 8 kg for the following species:

– pike (Esox lucius)
– catfish (Silurus glanis)
– common carp (Cyprinus carpio)
– tench (Tinca tinca)
– thicklip (Chelon labrosus)
– lipped mullet (Liza ramada)
– mullet (Mugil cephalus)

The allowable quantity of daily catch from does not refer to a trophy catch, so it is allowed to catch only one trophy fish a day which is heavier than 8 kg.
