Vrana lake is the largest natural fresh water lake in Croatia. It is natural phenomenon of a karst cryptodepression filled with water that has a slight salinity. the lake surface is 2 meters above the sea level, while the bottom is 4 meters below the sea level. The entire Park area is 57 sq. kilometers (3002 ha), while the lake area is 30,16 sq. kilometers.
The salinity of the lake ranges from 0,16 to 0,86 per mille and it is interesting that there are both freshwater and sea fish species in the lake.
